Playing as Terry Dactyl, a Retired Sunday League Player.

Hired as Manager of Botev Vratsa in Bulgaria.

The club currently plays in Western B Professional Football Group, the second level of Bulgarian football.

Botev Vratsa is one of the most prominent football clubs in Bulgaria, playing its home matches at Hristo Botev Stadium. The team's home stadium was built in 1948. It is situated in the Hristo Botev sport complex, in the east side of Vratsa. The stadium originally holds 32 000 seats. After a recent reconstruction, which took place in the first half of 2008 the stadium has 3 reconstructed seated sectors with a total of 6000 seats.
Botev's most glorious moment comes in 1971, when the team finished third in Bulgarian top division, after CSKA Sofia and Levski Sofia. Botev did, however, represent Bulgaria in the 1971-72 UEFA CupDinamo Zagreb from Croatia 2-8 on aggregate. The first game in Vratsa, in the presence of 35 000 spectators, ended with a 2-1 loss. The second game in Zagreb where they lost in the first round to finished 6-1.
The biggest success in the Bulgarian Cup is a semi-final in 1960-61, 1974-75 and 1984-85.

Hristo Botev Stadium

In 1989-90 Botev was relegated to second division. In the next 19 years the club participated in either the second or the third Bulgarian divisions.
Among the club's legendary players is Martin Petrov, considered by most Botev fans as the greatest player to have ever been involved with the club, and one of the greatest Bulgarian players. The list of other famous players to have come from the clubs' youth system consists of Ilia Valov, Valentin Iliev, and Valentin Stanchev. Nikolay Penkov is the player with most league appearances for the club - 334. The player with most league goals for the club is Georgi Kamenov, with 150 goals for Botev.

Looking at the squad, there isn't much depth and we really need a good Goalie.

Off to the Transfer market with little money to spend.
Its going to be Freebies to start.

3rd with 2 games to go. Is it possible to gain promotion?

Just to much ground to make up late in the season but a respectable 3rd place finish.

A nice break coming up to contemplate the future here in Bulgaria

Excellent stuff, mate. Unlucky on not making promotion, but if you decide to stay at the club then you should gain promotion next season.

Some good signings as well. Keep it up!

After a nice long summer I decided to stay in Bulgaria for a little while longer turning down several offers from Indonesia and China.

Added a couple of new players,

A return to England has to be appealing so I accepted although St Alban's is in a financial crisis and have no transfer budget its a good challenge.

Just started to read this.  Excellent start, love the humour and some depth to the story.
Decent start, and then.....oh no, back to England!!!  I was looking forward to some foreign leagues, but anyway, good luck with St Albans.
Love the name too.  You know what happened to Terry Dactyl when he went on a night out?  He had loads of pints and then a crackin curry, but in the morning he was another dinosaur.
what type of dinosaur?

St Albans City F.C. (nicknamed The Saints) was founded in 1908 and plays its home matches at Clarence Park, about 800 yards from the city centre.

The club is in the Conference South division of the Football Conference, having been promoted at the end of the 2005-06 season by beating Histon 2-0 in the Conference South play-off final at Stevenage Borough's ground, before being relegated the season after.

Financial Worries

In summer 2009 it was announced that Gibson's building firm, William Verry, were to go into administration with debts mounting continuously.

Gibson himself released a statement in regards to the clubs future[2], stating that it was safe. In the month that followed Gibson released another statement regarding the club's finances [3]

Since this statement there have been rumours of buy outs by a rival building firm who have taken on a number of William Verry's contracts. This apparently was unfounded. Another interested party is apparently Watford central Defender Darren Ward.

An article was written over the summer of 2009 making a point that although St. Albans is one of the most affluent areas in the UK it has one of the poorest football clubs.
Many fans and locals would love to see some of the many footballers who live in and around the area help the club out but thus far there has been no contact from any parties.

With the current financial crisis there is no transfer budget and the wage budget is maxed out.
Some players will have to go in order for wages to be freed up for new players to arrive.

With 14 months in Bulgaria under my belt I have an good understanding of the language and may be able to entice some Bulgarian players to England.
Wages in Bulgaria are much lower than in England so that's in my favour.

Starting in 19th position and on a 3 game losing streak this will not be easy............................

Good luck with Saint Albans mate, looks like a takeover could be good and I hope you can turn them from poor to European giants!

Looking over the St Alban's squad there is some talent there but some real weaknesses.

The staff seems OK for now but they all have long contracts, will wait and see.

Need to target a Goalie, DC, MC and a Striker.

I have 3 loan players including Jacob Walcott on loan from Reading, Theo's cousin who is very good for this level but his loan ends soon.

Joe Benjamin on loan from Northampton is the main goalscorer with 4 goals from 12 games so far, again his loan ends soon.

So off to the Transfer Market and I am targeting Bulgaria.

Good young prospect for the future.

First game for me is away to Weymouth, expecting a heavy defeat but deciding to go really defensive to start and try to sneak a goal later on the game.

Lost 1-0 but an encouraging game as the team played well.
