Chris Hegarty is an eighteen year old Northern Irish defender, who currently plays for Rangers. He is valued at 190k but rangers will need a few hundred thousand more. However he starts the game on a youth contract so you can sign him for £581k compensation if you want a quick signing. His wage demands are fairly low and what you get is a quality young centre back with bags of potential. He often gets released by Rangers at the end of the first season and is willing to drop down the leagues. Hes the perfect player is you are rising up the leagues.
Hegarty can play a number of positions which makes him a very valuable player to any side. His main position is CB though and should only be used in the others if needed.
He can play a number of roles, and although my assistant says his best is Ball Playing CB, I play him as just a normal CB defend.
He starts the game with very average stats. The mental side to his game is fairly good for such a young player, and that can only improve with age. 14 tackling, 12 concentration and pace are great for a cb, low marking, positioning and strength but they can be improved. His high determination and work rate are the key to his improvement I think.
So how does he progress.... Here he is in 2016
As you can see he has developed into a very good centre back.
High attributes for almost all key cb stats with 12 being the lowest.
To achieve this improvement the key is to get him on a good training routine and Individual focus set on the key stats, heading, strength and tackling. Each time one goes up change it to another stat focus.
So how well does he play ...
The season gone by he was superb (as anyone that follows my story will know). Captain of my Alloa side and easily one of the first names on my team sheet. 34 games played with 2 months out injured and a 7.13 average rating.
Capped by his country 10 times and thats pretty hard when he is competing with Jonny Evans and Craig Cathcart.
Overal his career in my save has been amazing. Signed him on a free after he left Rangers at the end of the season for 2nd division Alloa. 11 MOM in 33 games is amazing for his first season and he just got better and better. Never had a bad game from him tbh and Im really pleased he joined us
Strengths: Awesome young CB, who is willing to play low leagues but potential to play top level
Weaknesses: Very little
Suitable For: 1st season -League 1 and below
Future - Top level Europa league side
