Install to :
Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2014\data\sigfx\props\goalpost

Ok, what you have to do, is choose one of the colours of the net that you want from the download. In that colour folder is a file called net_cross_shader.dds

That file needs to go into Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2014\data\sigfx\props\goalpost

If you want to keep the original one then back it up or move it.


Download file here

Close FM and restart for GFX to take effect.

I may download these, I used to change the ball and nets all the time in previous versions of the FM, but haven't bothered much with graphics so far this year, but this would be a great start.

restarted game did not work do you have to replace the fm 14 folder

There is also the netting_shader file that will affect the base colour of the netting, I assume this why they are showing as different.

Also, depending on which photo software you are using will have an impact as well, Paint.Net and Gimp.org rely on add ons for .dds files and seem to have a different look to them on each different software.

Thanks I have tried altering both files without success. Do you know of any software with native support for dds? Have Gimp Paint.net & Photoshop CS2 and they all use plugins. I can't work out the balance of colours and its so frustrating!

Have you tried converting it to something like .png which is more colour tolerant then converting it back after you have manipulated the files ?

These are great, is there a reason, you cant colour a file, (like the goal_net file), gimp wont amend the colour or anything on it?

or is only really the net colour files that are amendable?

I am not 100% sure (will have to look and see) but they are just the pattern layout files. You can always try converting them to .png ad some colour to them then convert back and see what happens

Cheers, figured out what i wanted too in GIMP,I managed to change the netting back to the old hexgon shape as required though.. :)just needs sharpening and cleaning up when i have time..
