There is a lot more in the AI of the game this time and tactics are becoming more realistic.
For many lower league clubs though its still a punt and run approach, you probably wont have a Striker with great attributes, but look for one that is fast (Febian Brandy is still good).
Clog the midfield up and have a lone striker that is a poacher, make sure he doesn't wander from his own area and that he doesn't close anything down.
Make sure he is the target man, and either run on to ball if fast, or to his head if he has good heading skills.
Now, you can design a tactic for your team based on the preferred formation that the team usually plays. However, in English Footy its probably a 4-4-2 so changing that will take a few games for the lads to settle in, but can produce amazing results.
