AFC WIMBLEDONLast season: 16th
Manager: Terry Brown
About to
embark on his sixth season in charge, Brown has already achieved cult
status at Kingsmeadow by steering the phoenix club back to the Football
League with three promotions.
Key player: Jack Midson
Joint top
scorer in League Two last season with 18 goals, the Dons have done will
to rebuff interest in the tireless frontman. It may take Brown's
new-look squad a while to gel this season, but the presence of Midson
should ensure the goals keep coming.
Players in: Curtis
Osano (Luton, free), Stacy Long (Stevenage, free), Louis Harris
(Wolves, free), Warren Cummings (Bournemouth, free), Pim Balkestein
(Brentford, free), Angus MacDonald (Reading, loan), Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz

ACCRINGTON STANLEY
Last season: 14th
Manager: Paul Cook
Former
Stanley, Burnley and Wolves midfielder Cook took over in January after
John Coleman ended his 13-year stay with the club by leaving for
Rochdale. A run of just three wins in 17 at the end of last season means
the jury is very much still out.
Key player: Karl Sheppard
The
21-year-old Irishman joined Reading in January after a prolific season
for Shamrock Rovers in his homeland. A loan deal to the Crown Ground
will be his first taste of English football and goals are expected.
Players in: Toto
Nsiala (Everton, free), Bohan Dixon (unattached), Lewis Hatch
(Liverpool, free), Luke Clark, George Miller (both Preston, free),
Michael Liddle (Sunderland, undisclosed), Aidan Chippendale

ALDERSHOTLast season: 11th
Manager: Dean Holdsworth
The former
Wimbledon and Bolton striker has a burgeoning reputation as a manager
after the Shots overcame a slow start to last season to mount a play-off
push. Holdsworth turned down the Crawley job this summer and will be
aiming for promotion to vindicate that decision.
Tough call: will Holdsworth regret turning down Crawley?Key player: Danny Hylton
Hylton is
the Luis Suarez of League Two - for more reasons than one. The
23-year-old forward must serve out an eight-match ban for racial abuse
at the start of the season, but once he is back he possesses the vision
and trickery to torment defences at this level.
Players in: Anthony
Tonkin (Oxford, free), Ollie Lancashire (Walsall, free), Troy Brown
(Rotherham, free), Guy Branston (Bradford, free), Craig Stanley (Bristol
Rovers, free), Craig Reid (Stevenage, undisclosed), Sonny Bradley

BARNETLast season: 22nd
Manager: Mark Robson
Barnet have
been going through managers like they're going out of fashion in recent
years, so they'll hope Robson - appointed in June - has some staying
power. This is the 43-year-old's first managerial post after gaining
coaching experience at Charlton, Gillingham and Peterborough.
Key player: Jonathan Fortune
Has a wealth
of Premier League experience from his days at Charlton, where he worked
alongside Robson. Still only 31, the centre back will be looking to get
his career back on track after several seasons dogged by injury.
Players in: Sam
Cowler, Jordan Brown and Olly Lee (West Ham, free), Freddie Warren
(Charlton, free), Ahmed Abdulla (Dagenham, free), Jon Nurse (Dagenham,

BRADFORDLast season: 18th
Manager: Phil Parkinson
Parkinson
tasted success early in his managerial career - guiding Colchester to
the Championship - but his star has fallen in recent years, having lost
the Hull and Charlton jobs. The 44-year-old will be looking to rebuild
his reputation with promotion in his first full season in charge.
Key player: Nahki Wells
Some
excellent signings have made the Bantams among the favourites for
promotion, but hanging on to Wells has perhaps been their best bit of
business. With pace to burn, the 22-year-old Bermudan will be looking to
add to the 10 goals he scored last time out.
Goal threat: Wells will want to get into double figures againPlayers in: Andrew
Davies (Stoke, free), Rory McArdle (Aberdeen, released), Gary Jones

BRISTOL ROVERSLast season: 13th
Manager: Mark McGhee
Another
manager whose reputation has dwindled in recent years, McGhee did a
decent job in steadying the ship after Paul Buckle' short and
not-so-sweet spell in charge last year. The former Leicester and Wolves
boss will be expected to deliver promotion this season.
Key player: Matt Gill
A class act
at this level, the experienced midfielder was one of few shining lights
for the Gas last season. Has won promotion from this level before with
Exeter and Peterborough. Club captain.
Players in: Conor
Gough (Charlton, free), Oliver Norburn (Leicester, free), Matthew Lund
(Stoke, loan), David Clarkson (free agent), Gary Kenneth (Dundee United,

BURTON ALBIONLast season: 17th
Manager: Gary Rowett
Took over
towards to the end of last season after Paul Peschisolido was sacked
following a terrible run of form after new year. Formerly Peschisolido's
assistant, Rowett is charged with ending three years of mid-table
mediocrity in his first managerial job.
Key player: Billy Kee
Kee's
prolific form at the start of last season propelled Burton into the
play-off places, but injury restricted him to just 18 league
appearances. If he can stay fit there is no reason why he cannot improve
on the 12 goals netted last time out.
Players in: Robbie
Weir (Tranmere, free), Zander Diamond (Oldham, free), Damien McCrory
(Dagenham, free), Marcus Holness (Rochdale, free), Ross Atkins (Derby,
loan), Dean Lyness (Kidderminster, free)
Players out: Danny

Kee man: the striker (right) will be hoping to stay fully fit this season CHELTENHAMLast season: 6th
Manager: Mark Yates
Did a
fantastic job last season in steering the Robins to the play-off final
when everyone had predicted a relegation battle. Will be looking to go
one better this year.
Key player: Marlon Pack
The talented
playmaker's performances last season drew admiring glances from clubs
in higher leagues. If Yates can hang on to the former Portsmouth man his
creativity will be a weapon behind a talented strike force.
Players in: Sam Deering (Barnet, free), Chris Zebroski (Bristol Rovers,
undisclosed), Shaun Harrad (Bury, season-long loan), Connor Roberts

Players out: Luke Summerfield (Shrewsbury, free), Josh Low (Bath, free), Theo Lewis and Brian Smikle (released)

CHESTERFIELDLast season: 22nd in League One
Manager: John Sheridan
After a long and distinguished playing
career, Sheridan is beginning to make his mark as a manager. Leading
the club to the League Two title last season must however be a
springboard for future success. Chesterfield don't want to get a
reputation as a yo-yo club.
Key man: Neal Trotman
The defender may only be 25 but has a
host of clubs on his CV, including Huddersfield, Halifax, Southampton
and Preston, but Trotman seems to have finally found his feet at
Chesterfield. The imposing defender will hope to carry his form into the
new season.
Players in: Richard

Sam Hird (Doncaster, free), Terrell Forbes (Leyton Orient, free), Sam

DAGENHAM & REDBRIDGE
Last season: 19th
Manager: John Still
At 62, Still is no spring chicken but
his efforts in keeping Dagenham in the league last season show there is
plenty of life left in him yet. He passed 400 games in charge of the
club this year and will be hoping for a less stressful campaign this
time around.
Players in: Gavin Hoyte (Arsenal, free)
Players out: Gavin

Abdulla (Barnet, free), Jon Nurse (Barnet, free), Mark Arber, Peter
Gain, Phil Walsh, Jonjo Bates, Lee Wootton and Adam Cunnington (all
released), Rob Edmans (Macclesfield, loan)
Key man: Brian Woodall
After a slow start to last season, the
striker came to life from November onwards. His 13 goals were crucial
to the Daggers remanining in the league and at just 24, you feel there
is more to come from the young marksman.

EXETERLast season: 23rd in League One
Manager: Paul Tisdale
Having previously guided Exeter to
successive promotions, and then impressed again in keeping them in
League One, Tisdale was finally undone last year when relegation came
calling. The 39-year-old has made some impressive signings however and
will be confident of bouncing straight back up.
Players in: Rhys
Evans (Staines, free), Kevin Amankwaah (Rochdale, free), Pat Baldwin
(Southend, free), Arron Davies (Northampton, released), Craig Woodman
(Brentford, free), Jordan Tilson (free agent), Matt Oakley (Leicester,

Lenny Pidgeley, Richard Logan, Chris Shephard, Callum McNish and Luke
O'Brien (all released), Jonathan Fortune (Barnet, free)
Key man: Matt Oakley
Having spent time on loan last season,
Oakley has joined on a permanent basis despite the club's relegation.
Still going strong at 34, the midfielder will be a key player at this
level.

the summer ensuring the journey doesn't stop here.
Looking up: Mellon will be keen to test his credentials in the Football LeaguePlayers in: Dean

Sneddon, Paul Lindwood, Matty Hughes, Matty Flynn, Paul Edwards (all
released), Nathan Pond (Grimsby, loan)
Key man: Jon Parkin
Parkin had loan spells with Doncaster
Rovers, Huddersfield Town and Scunthorpe United last season but chose to
join Fleetwood after Cardiff agreed to release him from his contract.
He has scored goals at a much higher level and will be expected to fire
the Highbury side to the upper echelons of the table.

GILLINGHAMPosition last season: 8th
Manager: Martin Allen
Allen's bid to manage every club in
the Football League continues after leaving Barnet at the end of last
season before joining The Gills. Barnet aside, Allen has struggled of
late but will be hoping to find his feet at his new club. But given his
recent history, the chances of him seeing out his two-year deal seem
slim.
Players in: Stuart
Nelson (Notts County, free), Charlie Allen (Notts County, free), Ben
Strevens (Wycombe, free), Tommy Forecast (Southampton, loan), Tom
Flanagan (MK Dons, loan), Deon Burton (Gabala FC, free)
Players out: Garry

free), Jo Kuffour, Matt Lawrence, Danny Spiller and Curtis Weston (all
released), Paulo Gazzaniga (Southampton, undisclosed), Simon King
(Inverness, free)
Key man: Chris Whelpdale
Possibly most well known for splitting
his scotrum last season, the midfielder was in otherwise good form with
12 goals. The 23-year-old previously played over 100 games for
Peterborough and with time on his side, will expect to improve again
this season.
Title odds: 20/1
Promotion: 9/2
MORECAMBEPosition last season: 15th
Manager: Jim Bentley
For a few months last season, Bentley
looked to be leading Morecambe to an impressive promotion before their
challenge fell away. At only 36, he will surely have learned a great
deal from his first campaign in charge and will hope for more
consistency this time.
Players in: Robbie Threlfall (Bradford, free), Andrew Wright (Scunthorpe, free),
James Short (trainee), Chris Doyle (trainee), Richard Brodie (Crawley,
loan)
Players out: Lawrie
Wilson (Rotherham, free), Garry Hunter, Niall Cowperthwaite, Sean Breen
and Joe Culshaw (all released), Andreas Arestidou (free agent)
Transfer talk: Bentley will hope his new signings can help the team push onKey man: Kevin Ellison
The veteran winger showed no signs of
slowing down last season as he grabbed 17 goals in all competitions.
Morecamble will look to ease the burden by spreading the goals around
the team but there is no doubting Ellison's importance to the side.
Title odds: 66/1

NORTHAMPTONPosition last season: 20th
Manager: Aidy
BoothroydBoothroyd saved Town from relegation
last season but after a busy summer and a big turnaround in players,
there is a feeling at Sixfields that a play-off push is not out of the
question. The former Coventry and Watford boss has had a hard time of
late and desperately needs success to re-launch his career.
Players in: Clive
Platt (Coventry, free), Alex Nicholls (Walsall, free), Ishmel
Demontagnac (Notts Co, released), Chris Hackett (Millwall, free), Joe
Widdowson (Rochdale, free), Lee Nicholls (Wigan, loan), Henoc Mukendi

Players out: Michael
Jacobs (Derby, undisclosed compensation), Lewis Young (Yeovil, free),
Andy Holt, Freddy Hall, Nat Wedderburn, Michael Built, Jason Crowe and
Ryan Gilligan, Arron Davies (all released)
Key man: Clive Platt
Platt struggled for goals in a poor
Coventry side last season but the 34-year-old has scored more than 100
career goals. Standing at 6ft 4in, he will be the focal point of
Northampton's attack this season.
Title odds: 18/1
Promotion odds: 4/1
OXFORDPosition last season: 9th
Manager: Chris Wilder
Oxford were on course for a play-off
berth last season before being pipped to seventh place by Crewe, who
ended up securing promotion via the play-offs. Wilder's side will be
aiming to go one better this time and expect them to be there or
thereabouts.
Players in: Sean Rigg (Port Vale, free), Michael Raynes (Rotherham, free), Sean McGinty (Manchester United, six-month loan)
Players out: Oli
Johnson (York, free), Asa Hall (Shrewsbury, free), Paul McLaren, Anthony
Tonkin, Mark Wilson and Aaron Woodley (all released)
Key man: James Constable
With a record of one goal every three
games for Oxford, Constable is Oxford's biggest attacking threat and
turned down a move to Swindon last season, much to his club's delight.
He will surely attract more interest if he has another impressive
campaign.

PLYMOUTH ARGYLELast season’s finish: 21st
Manager: Carl Fletcher
The former Welsh International took
over from Peter Reid after a dismal start – winning just one point from
nine games - to last season, with the club in a dire financial position.
He was given a new contract after
stabilising the club and keeping them up with two games to spare. This
season is another huge test for the 32-year-old rookie as he now has the
freedom to implement his ideas from the start of the season.
Key player: Luke Young
The 19-year-old was a rare bright spot
in a tough year for the club on the right of midfield. With the
departure of Simon Walton, the captain and top goalscorer, to
Hartlepool, Young has a huge void to fill if he steps into the centre
but has the talent to do it.

After 18 months at Vale Park, Adams
left to manage boyhood team Sheffield United, before returning to his
former club in May 2011. But after optimism surrounded his return, the
club struggled financially and were issued with a winding up order in
March and a ten-point deduction scuppered their promotion hopes. A lot
will depend on how quickly Adams can mould a new squad into a tight
unit.
Key player: Doug Loft
The midfielder was player of the year
last season and has now replaced Marc Richards as captain. With all the
off-field troubles, the club need a huge season from the 25-year-old who
finished the season playing at left back.

Accrington Stanley where he masterminded three promotions. The club
will be hoping he can orchestrate another after he failed to stave off
relegation when he replaced Steve Eyre in January.
Key player: George Donnelly.
After strikers Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Michael Symes left the club the
24-year-old who joined from Macclesfield, a signing that Coleman seems very pleased with, must hit the ground running.

ROTHERHAM UNITEDLast season’s finish: 10th
Manager: Steve Evans
So, no pressure then Steve. After
jumping ship from Crawley last season he saw his former club promoted
while his new club tailed off at the end of the season. With a new
ground, The New York Stadium, and a lot of new faces, Evans will have to
convince the fans early on, with wins, to prove he is the right man to
take them up to League One.
Key player: Scott Shearer
The goalkeeper has been brought in by
Evans from his old club. It’s not surprising given that Rotherham
conceded 63 goals last season. Shearer is experienced and made some
outstanding performances for Crawley so will prove an excellent signing.
Players in: Daniel

Bossing it: Evans, seen here in his Crawley days, will be expecting promotion SOUTHENDManager: Paul Sturrock
Were top of the league for periods
last season but missed automatic promotion by a point then lost to Crewe
in the play-offs. This should not detract from the way Sturrock has
galvanised the club since taking over in July 2010 after having just
four full-time first team players in the squad. With five promotions to
his name, surely his side will be there or thereabouts this season.
Key player: Kane Ferdinand
The cousin of Rio and Anton has been
linked with West Ham in the past but has decided to stay at the League
Two club. Sturrock thinks the midfielder has improved even since the end
of last season. Despite still only being 19, he played 45 games last
year and could make the difference in the push for promotion.

Rebuilt his reputation last season
after being sacked from Cambridge in 2011. Was unlucky to miss out in
the play-offs like Southend but the club probably overachieved given
their limited resources. But this will not stop the straight-talking
Ling from targeting promotion again this time around.
Key player: Kevin Nicholson
The left back made the team of the
season last term after a string of fine performances. With the
departures of Bobby Olejnik and Eunan O’Kane, the 31-year-old former
Sheffield Wednesday player, who has a superb left foot, will have to use
his experience to help guide the team.
