Subject: 3D Match Balls v2 by DazS8 2013-11-20, 10:24

IMO better than the version 1 match balls
Lots clearer than the default ball.
The pink and black may look a bit...uuuurrgggh...but it shows up in the game superbly.

DazS8 FmReporter 3D Match Balls

Choose the ball colour you wish to use then place the file from that folder in the following path/folder

\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2017\data\sigfx\mesh\ball

If you wish to revert to the old ball, then backup your files first.

Please install with the game NOT running.

So place the files in the folder of the ball you wish to use in the above path
then start your game and check out your new balls.

what i can do about this?

If there is not a Football Manager folder in your PC.....well then how do you get the game to work?

Is it in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\

Without the X86 ?

I have seen some games go in there by mistake upon installation.

Ok, so you have the Football Manager folder in there ?

Then you can just put the file in here

C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2014\data\sigfx\props\ball

common folder has not football manager 2014 folder inside..
"C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common" in common folder there arent folders..

but i dont install the game i take only the football manager folder from an another pc and i put it in C:\Program Files.. and it works

You need to update the game via steam for it to work. (On the computer you are using)

How do you create a preview image, i've edited the flat dds file to how i want it (not sure of the compression rating etc, but i can try them one by one later.. its the getting from flat base image to round ball i'm struggling with..

Change it to .png and you can see the image better

Yeah it was the image mapper i was looking for, kinda gettin the hang of it no... no idea on the netting though.

You can make come cracking balls that look great in a picture, but in the game it seems the more detail there is, it becomes harder to see Sad

Like Vic said and me on that forum.....the more detail you add the less in becomes visible on the pitch.
I made loads in the past, they looked great when on my 3d photoshop image but in game....NAAAARRR

Does the pattern look the same in game though?
Give me the files to have a look as I made the same ball but in game the pattern gets all mashed up.
Which means I cant use em.

I'm just testing them out over the next day or so i'll delete or recolour the ones that dont work and see how they fair,
